Me and my little bear

My friend Phyllis took this picture yesterday. She was doing a photo documentary project when Henry and I stopped by to say hello. The photo very much captures our winter essence - Henry in his fleece bear suit and me in my dad's old parka. I can't wait to tell Henry stories about his first winter in Brooklyn, the record snowfall and arctic temperatures.

Beep-beep

Henry watched his first cartoon with his Dad. Roadrunner, of course.
I look at these photos and Henry's intense concentration on the screen and it terrifies me!

PG-Rated Bath time video

Henry's not sure what to make of water yet. Sagittarius is a fire sign. Little does he know that we are already looking into baby swim classes.

Henry Squared

I ashamed to say that we have very few photos from this past week. Which is a shame because suddenly Henry has some chub in his cheeks and a perfectly round face. The weight gain didn't come without some long nights. Forgive me, Henry. I am tired.

We did manage to have a date this week with a very special friend...another Henry. Born just two weeks apart, these two Henrys will grow up together in Greenpoint.

Henry and Annabelle

Henry is lucky to have two cousins so close in age. I myself had several cousins my age growing up and it made every holiday more fun!

Story Time

Gabe is determined to not limit his story time with Henry to Mother Goose and Dr. Seuss. Lately story time has consisted of Robert Crumb's "Genesis." I love the way Henry's looking at his dad.

Henry loves to party

Henry has been extremely social lately. Three parties in one week.

Great Aunt Dora

First smile captured on camera. Henry really took to his great aunt Dora!

Deep Thoughts

Henry definitely has a serious disposition for someone so new to this earth. At a mere five weeks old, he has the aura (and facial expressions) of a deep thinker.  In this photo Henry gives us, what Nana Townsend calls, "his suspicious look."

Cousins

Henry met his cousin Annie on New Year's Day. They are 9 days apart (and almost two pounds!)

Ringing in 2011

Henry made his first trip to Rhode Island to ring in the new year. The salt air put him right to sleep. Unable to find a New Year's hat in the town of Westerly, I was forced to do some arts and crafts.

Such an advanced kid...

Sometimes Henry holds his pacifier himself!
